📅Family Command Center

Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 November 2026

Family Command Center ("the app") is provided by Jacqueline Janse van Rensburg (Pty) Ltd (registration 2020/059790/07), South Africa ("we", "us"). We take your family's privacy seriously and process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

Children do not have accounts. Information about children is entered and controlled by their parent or guardian.

What stays on your phone

Uploaded notices

When you upload a school notice or document, it is read to find dates and then deleted. We don't keep the original file — only the items you confirm.

How we use it

Only to run the app for you: to show and share your family plan, remind you, and support your account. We do not sell your information, show advertising, or use it to build marketing profiles. We do not use AI services to read your family data.

Improving the app

To see which features are used, the app counts actions such as "plan saved by voice" or "week of dinners planned". These counts contain no names, no family content and nothing you type or say, and are kept on our own servers — we don't use third-party analytics or advertising tools. We also record which days a household uses the app, using a one-way code rather than your account, so we can count active households. We only ever look at totals.

Who processes it for us

We use trusted service providers who store or process information on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it: Clerk (sign-in and accounts) and Replit (hosting and database). Their servers may be outside South Africa, including the United States; where information is transferred, we rely on the safeguards POPIA requires. Apple and Google handle app downloads, speech recognition on your device and, later, payments, under their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Family → Account → Delete my account. If you're the only adult in your household, your family plan is permanently deleted. If another adult shares your household, the shared plan stays with them, and your account and sign-in are removed.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or object to how it's processed, by emailing support@famcommand.app. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.

Security

Information is sent over encrypted connections, and each household can only access its own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes

We'll update this page if anything changes and show the new date at the top. Significant changes will be shown in the app.
